The bar chart below shows that 57% percent of workers in the Coachella Valley region identify as Hispanic. The majority of workers in the Coachella Valley identify as racially white, with white workers typically making up about 80-90% of the workforce in Coachella Valley communities. However, many of these white workers also identify as Latino. Black employees typically make up about 2-3% of the regional workforce though bigger communities like Palm Springs and Cathedral City, which have larger Black population and Black workers make up closer to 6-8% of the workforce. Similarly, cities like Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, have comparatively larger Asian populations, with around 9% of the workforce identifying as Asian.
