The map and chart below highlights the predominant age groups for workers across the Coachella Valley. The age distribution for the region shows that 52% of workers are between ages 30 to 54; 27%  are above the age of 55; and 21% are 29 and/or younger. The age distribution of workers within individual Coachella Valley communities is similar to that of the region, with the majority of workers between ages 30 to 55. However, some communities, like Mecca and La Quinta, have comparatively younger workforces and a greater percentage of workers age 29 or younger.

Jobs by Gender Analysis

The map and chart below illustrate the gender distribution of workers across the Coachella Valley. The workforce across the region is somewhat equal, with 53% of workers identifying as male, and 47% as female. The gender distribution of workers within individual Coachella Valley communities is similar to that of the region. That said, communities like Thermal and Mecca are shown to have a larger percentage of their workforce identify as female, while communities like Sky Valley and Indio Hills have a noticeably larger percentage of their workforce identifying as male.
